Valenti recently did some crew work on a very independent film called "Bono is a Man Named Michael".   While on set he was cast as a hit man named Jimmy in the film and got to be the tough guy on screen by punching and knocking people around.  "It was great to play a wise guy but it was a mob movie without girls, guts, or guns.... go figure, nonetheless, I got to beat people up."

The final draft of "The Foursome" has been completed.  The shooting schedule is being compiled along with storyboards.   A final reading will be held in early August before opening up a massive audition process in the hopes of acquiring the perfect cast.  Some have already been discovered through our early auditions.  Acting ability, good screen presence and impeccable chemistry are all required to make the cut.  More bands will be added to the soundtrack in the coming months.  Both musical artists and actors should send their info to vvfilms@aol.com .  Valenti is currently working on the theme song to the film, tentatively titled, "One for All".

July 19, 2003

The second NYC audition was held today in another attempt to find more prospects to play the roles needed for the comedy "The Foursome".   Actors have enjoyed and have all agreed that the audition process being conducted by Valenti Vision Films and Herrero Entertainment is one that should be the norm in Hollywood.  It give actors a chance to understand characters more in depth and allows a more personal atmosphere.  "It's as beneficial to us as it is to them", states Valenti.

July 7, 2003

Joining on for the soundtrack of "The Foursome" will be local original bands, Local Hero (www.localheroband.com) and Ropetree (www.ropetree.com).   "I have developed a genuine respect and friendship with both bands and am a huge fan of their music.  It will be a blessing having them included on the soundtrack.  Their music fits the genre and feel of this movie and will add tremendously to the film in many ways.

June 14, 2003

A reading in NYC was held today as actors auditioned for the main roles in "The Foursome".  The script was acted out for the first time in a play-like format.  This gave Executive Producers Roberto Herrero and Joe Valenti a chance to see and hear the film aloud, allowing the chance for corrections and alterations.   Another audition process similar to this one will be held in July.

May 19, 2003

The final draft of "The Foursome" is near completion.  A reading with professional actors will be held in a theatre in NYC in early June.  Interested actors should email their resumes and headshots to vvfilms@aol.com.  Pre-production for the film will begin June 1.  Also, look for Valenti to possibly appear on Elimidate in the next few months.  Valenti has indeed picked up the guitar and the microphone once again, but let us put to rest the rumors of him joining another band.  "I have been in talks with past band members solely for the purpose of recording the soundtrack for "The Foursome", nothing more", Valenti says.  The only way to see him perform these days are at an open mic night in Aberdeen at the Cue and Brew on Monday nights.  Joe claims, "That's enough for me these days.  The filmmaking needs to take priority right now."

April 14, 2003

"Working Out" has officially changed its title to "The Foursome".  Valenti continues his role of Eric in the Chris Dye film titled "Something Sinister"  Shooting is half way complete and is scheduled to wrap in late April.  "Being on the other side of the camera has been a great experience.  It really helps me understand what actors deal with on shoots, which in turn will help me deal with them when I go back to directing", stated Valenti who plans on directing his next film early fall, 2003.

February 27, 2003

The re-write of "Working Out" is near completion and is scheduled to begin shooting late this summer.  Valenti Vision Films is currently in negotiations with Herrero Productions in the hopes that the two companies will work together to make this feature film.    Pre-production is set to begin as early as June.  Roberto Herrero will be named Producer and Joe Valenti as Director should the project receive the green light.  On the other side of the camera, Valenti recently appeared on a new ABC reality program set to air this summer.  We'll keep you posted.

 December 2, 2002

Joe Valenti recently shot, directed and starred in a short scene titled "Mirror to the Mob", in which Valenti plays two roles: one brother, a struggling film director, and his twin brother, the neighborhood mobster.  Great camera shots and dazzling special effects have fooled many into thinking Joe Valenti actually has a twin brother.  This short film has sparked Valenti to jump in front of the camera for a change and pursue some acting roles.

After months of incredible gigs and a promising future, The Groove Crew is no more.  On October 20, the final gig was played and the band split up.  Drugs and alcohol played a major factor as well as the commitment factor.  The Groove Crew made a habit of playing in front of crowds of 500 to 2000 fans every week visiting venues such as Finnagan's Wake, The Princeton, Washington College, The Ocean Club and many other venues across Pennsylvania and New Jersey.  The band was currently working on their first original CD titled "Sex Cells" and was scheduled for release in December, 2001.  All recording has been terminated.  This past September, the band also shot a documentary at NBC studios titled, "We Came To Play".  Post production on the documentary has been stopped as well. For those who have seen the Groove Crew, you'll remember the Groove Tube, which was the video presentation the band had at all of their performances.

Joe Valenti, 27,  lead vocals/rhythm guitar and P.J. Kent, 23, drummer have decided to try and move on together and form a new band which will carry on the dedication of their former band as well as the intense publicity campaign.  Of course The Groove Tube will continue, however under another name.

Well, the site is back and will be constantly updated now.  "Lying Beside You" had a good time out in California.  Although the theatre was not as packed as New York, we did not manage to strike up an incredible review for the film in the Hollywood's American-Reporter.  This review proves we have a good product here that will need to get out and shown.  Also, Director Joe Valenti has taken on yet another venture.  He is now the lead singer of The Groove Crew, a Philadelphia based cover/original band.  The group has been playing to packed clubs and bars all summer long and are now working on an original CD titled "Sex Cells".  Look for The Groove Crew to score Valenti's next film "Working Out".  For more information on The Groove Crew, visit www.thegroovecrew.com

On Friday April 6, 2001, history was made as Valenti Vision Films premiered it's first full length feature film "Lying Beside You" in front of a New York crowd of over 250 at Clearview Cinema.  The response to the film was amazing as the question that was most asked was how was the film made on a budget of $17,000 and without a crew.  Valenti Vision Films has now gained the attention of distribution companies as well as production companies.  "Lying Beside You" has given the film world a new meaning to "Independent Filmmaking".  Future screenings are planned at Monmouth University, West Long Branch, NJ and Brick, NJ, Joe Valenti's hometown within the next few months.  In mid July, the film will make it's West Coast Premiere in Los Angeles.  Recent press includes New York's 95.5FM Big Show with Scott & Todd in the morning as they discussed and plugged "Lying Beside You" and Valenti Vision Films.

April 1, 2001

Last night at Madison Square Garden, "Lying Beside You" was introduced to the public for the first time.  Many attended and watched our documentary which included a behind the scenes look at the making of the film followed by the film's trailer.  Some people even walked away with the soundtrack to the movie.  This soundtrack is a compilation of all the original music and songs heard in "Lying Beside You".  Most of these recordings were done in a home studio and a few are demos.  We will be re-recording the soundtrack in late spring/early summer.    Friday night, April 6th, will allow all of you to experience the fun and excitement of our "World Premiere".  There will be an after party at Float which is located at 240 West 52nd Street between Broadway and 8th.  Hope to see you all there.
